Shawn Craver is an Appalachian ballad singer, fiddler, storyteller, and songwriter whose music carries stories across generations.

Raised in the mountains of West Virginia and Western Maryland, Craver grew up hearing songs and stories from family and older Appalachian musicians—including sitting at the knee of a great-grandfather born in the 1890s. He began performing as a teenager and has spent decades carrying that tradition forward, known for uncommon Appalachian ballads, powerful fiddle playing, and the stories behind the music.

Craver brings these old traditions vividly into the present, winning over modern audiences with humor, storytelling, musical virtuosity, and a contemporary sensibility. His work sits at the intersection of Appalachian balladry, storytelling, literature, and contemporary culture. A Kansas Touring Artist, he has performed nationwide and shared stages with Chris Thile, Altan, Tim O'Brien, Bonnie Rideout, and The Nashville Bluegrass Band. He has also appeared on a literary panel with New York Times bestselling author Maria Dahvana Headley.
