     The Wichita-based trio features Shawn Craver (fiddle, guitar, vocals), Josh Luper (guitar), and Luke Craver (clawhammer banjo) playing traditional music in creative ways that defy genre.

      Shawn and Josh have been musical partners since founding Wichita's Raging Sea in 2009, with performances at the Wichita Orpheum, Topeka's Jayhawk Theatre, and the North Texas Irish Festival alongside international traditional-music stars including Altan and Dervish.

     Luke joined Greenbriar in 2023. Yes, he's Shawn's son—and he won the Mid-Atlantic Youth Banjo Championship in Cumberland, Maryland at age seven.

     Greenbriar explores Appalachian music from the tradition that predates bluegrass, where the words and stories are at the center. These are songs that conjure places, characters and dark little worlds—music that asks the listener to imagine as much as to listen.
